The Tamron Di II range

Di II is the name TAMRON affixes to its lenses exclusively designed for DSLRs with small format sensors (smaller than 24 x 16mm format included) and whose optical systems have been optimized to meet the performance characteristics of DSLR cameras.

Di II lenses are designed to prevent ghosting and stray light through special coatings, and to minimize the peripheral light fall-off that is seen in digital photos.

Additionally, Di II lenses provide ideal focal lengths to cover the range of magnifications desired by DSLR users.

The lenses of the TAMRON Di II range are therefore not compatible with the following devices: Canon 1D, Canon 1D Mark II, Canon 1Ds, Canon 1Ds Mark II, Canon 5D.

The Tamron XR range

TAMRON has succeeded in developing an optical configuration allowing a smaller diameter while maintaining the same maximum apertures as on its predecessor. Optical performance has been improved with XR (very high refractive index) lenses that reduce aberrations to a minimum.

The Tamron LD range

Photo lenses in the TAMRON LD range incorporate low dispersion lenses. Chromatic aberration is indeed a form of optical defect that reduces the sharpness of an image. LD (low dispersion) lenses are made of special glasses characterized by an extremely low dispersion index (which is the property of a glass to separate or refract white light in the 7 colors of the spectrum) and which actually make up the aberrations particularly awkward chromatic at certain focal lengths.

The TAMRON Aspherical (ASL) range

To achieve the ultimate in image quality and compactness, TAMRON uses multiple hybrid aspherical elements for some of its camera lenses. It is by using the latest advances in technology that TAMRON has succeeded in eliminating spherical aberrations and image distortion when using its high power zoom lenses. The use of hybrid aspherical technology groups, which can replace many lenses, has made it possible to achieve high image quality and a compact photo lens.

The Tamron IF range

The internal focusing system developed by TAMRON improves optical results by minimizing the loss of brightness in the corners of the image and also suppressing aberrations. In addition to reducing the minimum focus distance, it also offers a maximum ratio that really allows macro photography.

The Tamron ZL range

The practical and original zoom lock device avoids any stretching of the lens barrel during your travels. Your camera lens is thus perfectly protected.

The Tamron SHM range
